Just try your best!

I remember when I was in elementary school. The end of the year way especially exciting because we all knew summer was coming soon! But when Field Day came, I was never particularly excited because I was never very athletic. In fact, I never won a Blue ribbon in all my time in school! It seemed that no matter what the topic, there was always someone there who was faster than me, stronger than me or smarter than me. My self image was not a bright one, so I knew I had to try twice as hard if I were to compete with the bigger, stronger boys, so I always did. I knew I could never beat the fastest ones, but I knew I could try and run just a little faster, so I did. I knew there were kids much smarter than me (or so I thought) so I tried a little harder, so I wouldn't be embarrassed. In the end, I finally realized, no one cared how I was doing! They were all busy worrying about themselves not looking awkward or weak! I don't need anyone's approval or recognition! I never did! And neither do you!
