Do you remember when you 1st started out in the workforce? Was it as exciting for you as it was for me? New friends, new experiences, and yes, money! I remember when I went to the army, it was all the above and much more. But I remember I had to study harder than my soldier brothers, because they always seemed to catch on easier than me. I latched on to older mentors and I paid close attention to them and always watched and listened to their wisdom and experience. But I always felt like I was in over my head. When my enlistment ended, my motor seargent came to me and said that I was a "can do soldier." He said I was the kind of soldier he was glad to serve with. I was literally stunned! He saw something in me that I couldn't. I had become what's known as an unconscious competent. I didn't even know just how good I really was! No one started out as an expert! If you're struggling with something, I implore you to be patient with yourself! Think of every day as stacking just one brick onto a wall. It doesn't look very strong at first, but in no time, your proverbial wall will be strong, fortified, and dependable. Just make sure you're careful not to build your wall around yourself!
Peace
